Mastering Best Audio is run by Rafael Paulo — certified sound engineer (SAE Institute Frankfurt diploma) and mastering engineer with more than 25 years of experience. You can hear that combination of musical understanding and technical precision: every track is monitored in an acoustically treated room and refined until dynamics, depth and loudness fall into place.

Process

How your online mastering works.

From raw mix to finished master in five steps — fully online, no studio visit required.

1

Send your mix

Send us your raw mix as a link (WeTransfer, Google Drive, Dropbox) via the contact form — with your preferred package, sound direction and release goal.

2

Review & feedback

We listen to your mix, check levels and direction, and get back to you within 24 hours.

3

Individual mastering

Your track gets its own signal chain — digital, analog or hybrid, tailored to genre and reference.

4

Receive your masters

You receive your final master files as 24-bit / 48 kHz WAV — within 24–48 hours or 3–5 days, depending on the package.

5

Revision

Fine-tuning based on your feedback: one revision in the Digital package, two revisions included with Analog and Hybrid.

Recommended delivery: WAV or AIFF, ideally 24-bit or 32-bit float, without lossy compression and with some headroom. Preferably without a limiter on the master bus — unless the limited mix is meant as a loudness reference. A reference track is always welcome.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Answers about online mastering, file formats, loudness and workflow.

What is online mastering?

With online mastering, you send your finished mix to our studio as a file link instead of visiting in person. Rafael Paulo processes your track on professional monitoring — through a digital, analog or hybrid signal path — and you receive your final master files conveniently by download.

How does online mastering work?

You send your raw mix as a link via the contact form and choose your package. We review the mix, get back to you within 24 hours and master your track individually. You then receive your master files — including a revision based on your feedback.

Which file format should I send?

Ideally WAV or AIFF at 24-bit or 32-bit float, at the sample rate of your production. Please avoid MP3s or other lossy formats — they limit the quality of the processing.

How much headroom should my mix have?

It's enough that your mix doesn't clip and leaves a little room below 0 dBFS. More important than an exact figure is that the master bus isn't already heavily limited.

Should I remove the limiter from the master bus?

Yes, we recommend it: please disable the limiter on your master bus so the full dynamics remain available for mastering. You're welcome to include a limited version as a loudness reference.

Which master files will I receive?

You receive your master as 24-bit / 48 kHz WAV, with loudness tailored to your target platform. A DDP image for CD production is available as an option with the Hybrid package.

Is the master suitable for Spotify and Apple Music?

Yes. Mastering is aligned with the loudness normalization of streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube (LUFS targeting), so your track sounds consistent and competitive everywhere.

Do you master techno and electronic music?

Yes — techno, house, EDM and electronic music are a core focus, including club-ready loudness. Hip-hop, pop, rock and other genres are mastered just as carefully, each with an individually tailored signal chain.

What is the difference between mixing and mastering?

Mixing balances the individual tracks of a song against each other. Mastering is the final step after that: the finished stereo mix is refined, optimized in loudness and technically prepared for release on streaming, CD or vinyl.

How long does mastering take?

Digital mastering is usually delivered within 24–48 hours, analog and hybrid mastering within 3–5 days. With the Express Service (+€39), delivery within 24 hours is possible.

Can I send a reference track?

Absolutely — a reference track helps us hit your sonic vision faster. Simply include the link in the message field of the form.

Are revisions included?

Yes. The Digital package includes one revision, Analog and Hybrid include two. Each additional revision can be added for €19.
